Caramel Tree

This average-sized tree grows up to 47 meters (154.2 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 609 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, angular trunk covered in very thick, smooth, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the flexible wood is dark brown.

The branches are very long and thin and are covered with thick bunches of soft, large, fan-like leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are caramel on the edges and bronze at the center.

In late summer it forms tiny, pink aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
