Copperfern

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized tree grows up to 52 meters (170.6 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 146 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, crooked trunk covered in thin, wrinkled, dark gray bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pale yellow.

The excessive amount of branches are very long, thin and wispy and are covered with very large amounts of smooth, miniature, fan-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are copper at the bottom and cyan with light brown streaks at the top.

In late summer it forms small, gold, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.

It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
The bark, wood and leaves are edible.
