Crescentvine

This large shrub grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 155 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several stocky, crooked stems covered in silky, dark brown bark, and the wood inside is silver.

The branches trail down across the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of tiny, asymmetrical, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are slate with vibrant orange tips, frail and fuzzy.

In late summer it produces thousands of medium-sized, violet blossoms with crescent-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like cotton.

In late winter long, narrow fruits ripen. The waxy muted purple skin is tough and sweet and sour, and the crunchy amber flesh is savoury and juicy. The hazel seed is tiny and sits at the top of the fruit.
