Copperberry

This small fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 74 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in smooth, brown and grey bark, and inside, the dense wood is burgundy.

The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with sparse amounts of huge, fan-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are copper and cyan.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of tiny, beige blossoms with sickle shaped petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like misty mornings.

In mid-autumn it produces tiny, long, narrow fruit. The smooth cyan skin is tough and edible when cooked; it is sweet, and the slightly crunchy silver flesh is sweet and sticky. The silver seed is tiny and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
