Pastel Yellow Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This short leaf succulent grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. The fan-like stem is emerald, and is dotted with small subtle yellow spines. The smooth-edged, wispy leaves are pastel yellow at the bottom and cream with purple dots at the top. Large amounts of them grow from the base in a loosely patterned way. The leaves are rigid, but take some effort to detach.

It is very slow growing, taking 37 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with petals that are pastel yellow in the center, gold in the middle and intense purple at the edges grows at the top, reappearing after 8 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet made up of dozens of widely spaced, round-tipped petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like cotton.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the aquamarine flesh is waxy, and the vibrant green sap is thin.

It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
Offering it in a bouquet is supposed to bring good luck.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
