Tree type: Deciduous (Evergreen - keeps its leaves all year round)This short tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 171 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in knobbly, yellow bark, and inside, the flexible wood is white.
The abundance of branches are short and thin and are covered with small amounts of leathery, small, thin leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are cream and brown.
In early spring, it produces several small, pink blossoms with sickle shaped petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like freshly washed clothes.
In late summer it forms small, black, shelled seeds.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It coexists peacefully with other plants.
