Speckled Black Tree

This huge tree grows up to 96 meters (315.0 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 619 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in waxy, light brown bark, and inside, the very hard wood is black with white speckles.

The extensive patches of branches are long and thick and are covered with sparse amounts of leathery, miniature, spiral leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are found in red and lime varieties.

In early spring, it produces many medium-sized, beige blossoms with long, tapering petals. They are hardy and have an intense scent that smells like onion.

In late summer it forms small, brilliant green, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.
