Burgundy Petalvine

Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short flower grows up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. Its yellow-green stem is thin and splits into dozens of branching stems at the base, and the small, burgundy leaves are oval-shaped with smooth edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

Two medium-sized flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with petals that are silver on the edges and vibrant green at the center. The flower head is largely flat with dozens of raised narrow petals. They fall easily.

It has a fairly strong scent that smells like varnish, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.
