Burgundy Grass

Grass type: Perennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This big, burgundy grass grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall. The stiff, pointed stalks grow in thick clumps that are light and frail and they are slow to spread and grow.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, copper tuft.

During the early autumn, it produces lots of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with excessive amounts of large grains.

It is difficult to cut through.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
