Red Trumpet Flower

This small flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its pink-red stem is thick and straight, and the huge, red leaves are finger-like with toothed edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Dozens of giant flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with petals that are either black or yellow, with a yellow center. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet with 20 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They are very delicate.

It has a weak scent that smells like bonfire smoke, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird and is ignored by most insect species.
