Silverfruit

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This giant fruit tree grows up to 67 feet (20.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 35 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, crooked trunk covered in very thick, cracked, silver and white bark, and inside, the soft wood is pale yellow.

The abundance of branches are long and thin and are covered with very large amounts of miniature, spear shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are grey with purple tips.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of medium-sized, aquamarine blossoms with crescent-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a strong scent that smells like meat.

In early autumn it produces tiny, oval fruit. The rough green skin is thick and spicy, and the crunchy purple flesh is bitter and dry. The silver seed is large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.

It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
