Orangeberry

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This short fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 74 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in very thick, silky, brown and grey bark, and inside, the very light wood is dark brown.

The abundance of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with thick bunches of giant, very thin leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are either pink or hazel, with olive zig-zags.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of small, blue blossoms with long, narrow petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have a weak scent that smells like paint.

In mid-summer it produces , slender, 3 pointed fruit. The soft vibrant orange skin is peel-able and inedible, and the soft cyan flesh is sweet and powdery. The brown seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
