Speckled Black Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This big tree grows up to 75 meters (246.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 58 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in delicate, smooth, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the very light wood is burgundy.

The small bunches of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with very large amounts of smooth, large, long, narrow leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are light brown on the edges and lilac at the center.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, red, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.

The pollen is overwhelmingly toxic to people but not to certain animals.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
It can survive a very long time without water.
