Clinging Silverspear

Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 200 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of thick, twisting stems covered in silky, brown bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches are very long, thin and wispy with thousands of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of giant, very thick, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are either slate or silver, with orange dots, rigid and covered in fine hairs.

In late spring it produces a thick sheet of medium-sized, peach flowers with spear shaped petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are hardy and have a strong scent that smells like a man.

It is difficult to cut through.
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
