This lime green moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In bogs, and In marshes.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps, and is extremely flimsy; it struggles more than most during dry spells.
When mature, emerald circular capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release millions of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.

It comes in 42 varieties.
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
The sap is edible and slightly spicy.
