Copperfern

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 163 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has many thick, crooked stems covered in very thick, rough, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is white.

The branches trail down across the ground that and are covered with thick bunches of tiny, thick, leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are beige on the edges and purple at the center, rigid and crispy.

It produces a thick sheet of large, green flowers with triangular shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like marzipan. In early winter it forms smallfaded orange seed pods.
