Yellow Spine Cactus

This small cactus grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 4 thick stems. Each stem is gray-green, and is covered in sharp spines. The cuboid body is green, and is covered in thousands of fine, pastel yellow, hair-like spines.

It is quick growing, taking 6 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with petals that are either yellow or silver, with a yellow center grows at the top, reappearing after 10 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 45 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight trumpet. It has an overpowering scent that smells like cherry.

The cactus's skin is thin, the ashy red flesh is slimy, and the blood red sap is thin and can cause blindness if consumed.
