Bloodvine

This short flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its gray stem is very thick, and the giant, emerald leaves are light grey on the underside and are stiff, pointed with toothed edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Lots of small flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with petals that are blood red on the edges and gentle purple at the center. The flower head is largely flat with 24 raised round-tipped petals. They detach easily.

It has a fairly strong scent that smells like rotting meat, and it has an average amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is visited by a large variety of them.
