Emerald

This small bine is a fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 15 feet (4.6 meters) and growing as high as 702 feet (214.0 meters).

It takes 3 months for the emerald stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and are hard and brittle.

The pleated, covered in fine hairs leaves reach up to 5 inches (13 cm) in length. They are brown and blue, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the bine produces hundreds of large light green flowers, and during the mid-autumn, after flowering, it produces a modest amount of large berries.
