Crimson Moss

This red moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In heathlands.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is very light.
When mature, emerald circular capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release thousands of spores.
