Orange Starfire

This small caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The asymmetrical stem is orange, and is covered in handfuls of rigid lime spines. The crooked, grey trunk can grow to as much as 2 feet (61.0 cm) in diameter at the top. Its silver branches are short and thin and start growing three quarters of the way up the stem.

The sparse amounts of smooth-edged, thin leaves are either slate or purple, with hazel zig-zags. They are delicate, but detach easily.

It is fast growing, taking 3 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with blood red petals and a magenta central disk grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a star with 11 widely spaced, narrow petals. It has a soft scent that smells like freshly baked bread.

The caudiciform's skin is very thick, the lilac flesh is waxy, and the gold sap is thin.
