Cyan Fruit Tree

This small fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 40 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 79 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in hard, wrinkled, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the very light wood is pale brown.

The branches are long and thin and are covered with large amounts of tiny, thin leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are generally cyan.

In early spring, it produces balls of large, caramel blossoms with long, tapering petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a weak scent that smells like fish.

In mid-summer it produces , finger-like fruit. The soft peach skin is thin and edible when roasted; it is savoury, and the slightly crunchy gentle purple flesh is bitter and very juicy. The caramel seed is small and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
