Clinging Cypress
Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This modest-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for around 30 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has numerous narrow, straight stems covered in rough, white with black speckled bark, and the wood inside is dark brown.
The branches are very short and thin with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of giant, long, narrow, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are generally cyan, tough and soft.
It produces handfuls of tiny, black flowers with 6 pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a soft scent that smells like cigarette smoke. In early autumn it forms giantgreen seed pods.
It is suitable for making paper
It can survive a long time without water.
