Burgundy Grass

This modest-sized, burgundy grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The long, tapering stalks grow in thick clumps that are resilient and they spread and grow quickly.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a giant, black flower.

During the mid-summer, it produces lots of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with copious amounts of tiny grains.
