Violet?

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 61 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a very thick, twisting trunk covered in paper-thin, waxy, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the hard wood is pine-coloured.

The tangled mess of branches are long and thick and are covered with large amounts of small, perforated leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are solid pink or cream, with violet lines.

In early spring, it produces a handful of small, gold blossoms with 5 umbrella-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a weak scent that smells like vanilla.

In early summer it produces , 6 pointed fruit. The rubbery sky blue skin is peel-able and edible when roasted; it is sour, and the soft blood red flesh is spicy and dry. The bronze seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
