Copperbud

This small flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its yellow-green stem is wispy and straight with a curved tip, and the huge, moss green leaves are wispy with rounded edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Hundreds of small flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with petals that are generally copper; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is shaped like a cube with 6 tightly layered, narrow petals. They fall easily.

It has a strong scent that smells like fish, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.
