Clinging Ashvine

This huge shrub grows up to 13 feet (4.0 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 148 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous long and flexible, angular stems covered in thick, knobbly, light brown bark, and the wood inside is yellow.

The branches trail down across the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of tiny, perforated, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are solid blood red or grey, with cyan patches, strong and flexible and waxy.

It produces a thick sheet of tiny, turquoise flowers with stiff, pointed petals. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like ashes. In midwinter it forms smalllight grey, shelled seeds.
