Indigo Tree

This small tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 639 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in very thick, rough, light gray bark, and inside, the very dense wood is gray.

The small handful of branches are very long and thick and are covered with large amounts of smooth, tiny, stiff, pointed leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are bright green and indigo.

In late summer it forms tiny, light brown, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
