Clinging Willow
Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This colossal shrub grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall and lives for around 63 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has many wide, straight stems covered in fine, silky, brown-green speckled bark, and the wood inside is copper-coloured.
The branches trail down to the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of huge, needle-like, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are found in silver, cyan and dark blue varieties, flexible and leathery.
In mid-spring it produces handfuls of giant, cream flowers with long, narrow petals. They are sturdy and have an intense scent that smells like citrus.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
All parts of the grass are edible.
