Violet

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 54 feet (16.5 meters) tall. The very thick stem is lime green, and is covered in thousands of flexible grey spines. It has a curved, slender, hazel trunk atop a thin platform of knobbly, exposed roots. The branches are thin and brown and gold and are short stubs.

The tattered-edged, long, narrow leaves are faded blue at the bottom and violet with peach zig-zags at the top. They are frail, but easily come away when pulled.

It is steady-growing, taking 22 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are orange at the sides and beige at the center grows at the top, reappearing once every 10 years. The flower head is made up of many petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight tube. It has a faint scent that smells like musk.

The caudiciform's skin is tough, the bronze flesh is leathery, and the yellow sap is thin.
