Bluegrass

Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This modest-sized, red or blue grass grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The very narrow and elongated stalks grow in large clumps that are delicate and they are slow to spread and grow.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, olive spikelet.

During the early summer, it produces very little pollen, but can cause allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a modest amount of giant grains.

It comes in 14 varieties, each with a different leaf colour.
