It takes 3 months for the green stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and are rough and fibrous.
The spear shaped, smooth leaves reach up to 4 inches (10 cm) in length. They are aquamarine and sky blue, and have irregular edges.
During late spring, the creeper produces thousands of colossal pink flowers.
It grows well in the sun and full shade.
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
