Crimson Leaf Shrubs
Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)This enormous shrub grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 200 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has dozens of sturdy, crooked stems covered in delicate, rough, brown bark, and the wood inside is burgundy-brown.
The branches are long and thick that and are covered with handfuls of large, slender, pointed, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are solid white or crimson, with violet lines, tough and crispy.
It produces a handful of tiny, gentle green flowers with sickle shaped petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like fresh linen. In early winter it forms medium-sizedblack, shelled seeds.
It can survive a very long time without water.
