Indigo Vine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This average-sized bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 33 feet (10.1 meters) and growing as high as 125 feet (38.1 meters). It prefers to grow on rock formations.

It takes 5 years for the yellow stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 2 inches (5 cm) and are soft and flexible.

The very narrow and elongated, rough leaves reach up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) in length. They are generally indigo, and have serrated edges.

During late spring, the bine produces a thick sheet of average violet flowers.

It is suitable for making paper
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
The bark is frequently covered in moss.
