Copperwood

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 51 meters (167.3 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 330 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in ridged, gray bark, and inside, the very hard wood is yellow.

The excessive amount of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with small amounts of sticky, miniature, very narrow and elongated leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are copper at the bottom and blood red with grey edges at the top.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of medium-sized, olive blossoms with broad, flat petals. They are hardy and have a strong scent that smells like glue.

In late summer it forms giant, blood red, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.

It comes in 19 varieties, each with a different leaf colour.
The sap is gentle blue.
