Violet

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 16 feet (4.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 40 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 63 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a thick, crooked trunk covered in very thick, waxy, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the light wood is pale brown.

The small bunches of branches are short and thick and are covered with large amounts of large, long, tapering leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are pastel purple and pink.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of small, violet blossoms with 5 cylindrical shaped petals. They fall easily and have an intense scent that smells like coffee.

In mid-autumn it produces , long, straight fruit. The crispy florescent yellow skin is stretchy and inedible, and the slightly crunchy aquamarine flesh is sweet and very dry. The green seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
