Magentafern

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 36 meters (118.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 443 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, crooked trunk covered in thick, ridged, brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is black.

The small handful of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with copious amounts of fuzzy, giant, wispy leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are either purple or magenta, with peach edges.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, pink aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

The leaves and petals are often used to make tea.
It grows well in the sun and full shade.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
