Emerald vine

This huge vine is a very slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 970 feet (295.7 meters) and growing as high as 511 feet (155.8 meters).

It takes 6 years for the emerald stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 3.7 feet (1.1 meters) and are smooth and woody.

The oblong, smooth leaves reach up to 3.9 feet (1.2 meters) in length. They are light grey and bold blue, and have jagged edges.

During late spring, the vine produces many large purple flowers, and during the early summer, after flowering, it produces a modest amount of small seed pods.
