Red Vein Flower

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.8 feet (56 cm) tall. Its yellow stems grow in bunches of 3 and are very thick and straight, and the large, red leaves are pleated with rounded edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Lots of large flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide, with petals that are cream on the underside and cream on the top. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 40 petals. They fall easily.

It has a delicate scent that smells like garlic, and it has a modest amount of pollen. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.
