Pinkleaf Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized tree grows up to 39 meters (128.0 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 433 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in fine, knobbly, brown and grey bark, and inside, the soft wood is black with white speckles.

The numerous branches are very long, thin and wispy and are covered with large amounts of soft, miniature, thin leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid pink or intense purple, with light red dots.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, gentle orange seed pods.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
