Aquamarine Fruit Tree

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 13 feet (4.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 48 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, silky, dark brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is copper-coloured.

The sparse amount of branches are very long, thin and wispy and are covered with very large amounts of large, spiral leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are gray with aquamarine tips.

In early spring, it produces many tiny, sky blue blossoms with circular petals. They detach easily and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like rotting meat.

In late summer it produces tiny, slender, 2 pointed fruit. The waxy purple skin is stretchy and inedible, and the crunchy turquoise flesh is salty and sticky. The brilliant yellow seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
