Bloodbloom

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 80 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of very thick, straight stems covered in smooth, black bark, and the wood inside is white.

The branches are long and slender with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of huge, asymmetrical, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are found in olive and black varieties, soft and flexible and clammy.

In late spring it produces handfuls of giant, blood red flowers with oval-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have an intensely strong scent that smells like a newborn baby.
