Magenta

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.0 foot (30 cm) tall. Its green stems grow in bunches of 4 and are thin with a curved tip, and the huge, orange leaves are dark emerald on the underside and are shield-shaped with ripped edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Lots of small flowers grow in drooping bunches like grapes. The flowers are 4 cm (1.6 inches) wide, with alternating petals of magenta and blood red, with a lilac central disk. The flower head is shaped like a sphere with 18 raised, round-tipped petals. They are hardy.

It has a strong scent that smells like freshly baked bread, and it has very little pollen, but can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by one species of insect in particular.
