Crimson Vine

This modest-sized vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 26 feet (7.9 meters) and growing as high as 769 feet (234.4 meters).

It takes 20 months for the red stems to mature, by which point they often have a diameter of 4 inches (10 cm) and are rough and fibrous.

The wispy, sticky leaves reach up to 1.0 foot (30 cm) in length. They are solid olive or lilac, with brown zig-zags, and have jagged edges.

During late spring, the vine produces hundreds of small sky blue flowers.
