Brown Dot
Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)This enormous flower grows up to 8.2 feet (2.5 meters) tall. Its moss green stem is wispy, and the miniature, green or blood red leaves are cylindrical with rounded edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.
Two small flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 28 cm (11.0 inches) wide, with solid brown petals decorated with vivid green dots and a sky blue central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 59 curved petals. They are hardy.
It has the faintest scent that smells like soap, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to bees.
