Silverbell

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 78 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many very thick, crooked stems covered in delicate, smooth, silver and white bark, and the wood inside is mahogany-coloured.

The branches are short, rigid and upright with thousands of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of giant, thin, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are either deep red, or olive with black dots, flimsy and crispy.

It produces lots of giant, peach flowers with slender, pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a weak scent that smells like vanilla. In mid-summer it forms smallsilver, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

It is suitable for making strong rope
