Spearleaf Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This average-sized tree grows up to 50 meters (164.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 412 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, angular trunk covered in thin, rough, brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is yellow-brown.

The abundance of branches are long and thick and are covered with small bunches of soft, giant, spear shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are gentle purple on the edges and peach at the center.

In late summer it forms small, pastel green aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.

The sap is edible and overwhelmingly salty.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
