Cyanfruit Tree

This big fruit tree grows up to 44 feet (13.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 50 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, twisting trunk covered in delicate, cracked, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the light wood is copper-coloured.

The abundance of branches are very short, thin and wispy and are covered with small bunches of huge, shield-shaped leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are generally aquamarine.

In early spring, it produces thousands of giant, cream blossoms with oblong petals. They are sturdy and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like rainy days.

In late autumn it produces , hourglass-shaped fruit. The leathery cyan skin is thick and edible when cooked; it is sweet, and the very soft florescent orange flesh is sweet and spicy and very dry. The black seeds are small and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
