Caramel

This small caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The sickle shaped stem is pink-red, and is covered in lots of rigid white spines. The straight, gold trunk can grow to as much as 2 feet (61.0 cm) in diameter in the middle. Its green branches trail down towards the ground and start growing at the top the stem.

The sparse amounts of smooth-edged, fan-like leaves are caramel with peach tips. They are resilient, but detach easily.

It is slow growing, taking 25 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with petals that are orange on the edges and sky blue at the center grows at the top, reappearing after 6 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 4 petals in raised layers. It has a fairly strong scent that smells like new books.

The caudiciform's skin is tough, the lilac flesh is rough, and the orange sap is thin and can cause blindness if consumed.
