Eternal Fir

This modest-sized tree grows up to 59 meters (193.6 feet) tall and lives "forever", with many known specimens being tens of thousands of years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a narrow, slanted trunk covered in silky, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is white with black speckles.

The sparse amount of branches trail down to the ground, with dozens of twigs covered with very large amounts of giant, orange-yellow needles. The needles themselves are resilient.

In late summer it produces small, olive aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
